PBI UII Student Won First Place in an Arts and Education International Competition
Aureliana Ditasari (PBI UII 2020) secured an impressive achievement in The 1st Teknokrat International Competition on Arts and Education 2023 (TICAE 2023) held by Teknokrat University on August 12th, 2023. Aureliana, or often called as Aurel, got awarded first place in the microteaching competition, one of the competition categories in TICAE 2023.
Aurel acknowledged that her achievement would not be possible if it were not from the support and assistance she received from the lecturers, staffs, and friends at PBI UII. She also talked about how much the courses she took had an impact. In her preparation, Aurel put a lot of effort to have the best performance in doing the microteaching. For starters, Aurel developed her some of her teaching material from a project she created in the Language Assessment course. She also had a regular consultation with PBI UII lecturers regarding her module design, and asked for suggestions from her friends on how to build a better student engagement while teaching.
Winning the TICAE 2023 competition has given a strong boost to her confidence, especially in classroom management. Currently, Aurel is preparing for her upcoming teaching practice in the Phillippines as she was selected to be one of the delegations for International Teaching Practice 2023. She mentioned how participating in the TICAE 2023 has offered her a better understanding of lesson plan design and teaching strategies relevant to students’ needs and the learning context.
TICAE is an academic and non-academic competition between universities from all over the world. The competition challenges the participants to be able to think creatively and grow their confidence. This competition has several categories, including as microteaching, aerobic exercise, statistic infographic, SDG presentation, song cover, as well as newscasting.(CA)
